Bob Young was released from jail on Wednesday on the condition that he wear a GPS monitor tracking his whereabouts, according to Barberton city prosecutors.after police said he violated the terms of a protection order by calling someone he is barred from contacting following his July 7 arrest on domestic violence charges.
Young faces charges of domestic violence and assault, both first-degree misdemeanors, while a previous felony charge of disrupting public services has been dismissed. Cleveland.com and The Plain Dealer has reached out to Young, leaving messages with John Greven, his lawyer, and with Ryan Steubenrauch, a spokesman for Young.
In an interview Thursday, Galonski, a former magistrate from Akron who oversaw domestic violence cases in Summit County, said she finds Young’s latest arrest to be especially troubling given her professional background.
