THE Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) said on Friday that the repatriated Filipinos from conflict-hit Sudan will receive psychosocial counseling assistance to address possible trauma caused by the war.
'Yesterday, there were DSWD officers who were with our team to welcome our fellow Filipinos from Sudan. They immediately gave psychosocial services because most of them went through a lot of trauma, especially children,' DMW Undersecretary Bernard Olalia said in a media briefing.On Thursday, 74 Filipinos arrived in the country and 85 more arrived on Friday. They were given care packs which contained basic needs such as food and water, according to Olalia.
85 more arrived on FridayIn a post by the OWWA, the eighth batch of Filipinos returned home from Sudan via Riyadh, Saudi Arabia with Saudia Flight 862 at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 1.Officials from the OWWA with director Luisa Reyes and DMW assistant secretary Venecio Legaspi welcomed the Filipinos.OWWA Administrator Arnell Ignacio previously announced the arrival of this batch while on a flight with the seventh batch of 74 Filipinos that returned home from Sudan via Riyadh.
