Deputy W. Kimbro is being praised for acting quickly during a traffic stop after he saved the life of a 12-day-old girl who wasn't breathing.
, sheriff's department is honoring one of its heroic members after Deputy W. Kimbro saved the life of an infant who was only 12 days old when she nearly lost her life. The police officer had stopped a vehicle for speeding during a routine patrol on June 11, but when he went to speak with the driver he discovered they were rushing to get theirand his quick thinking ended up saving baby girl's life.
“Her lips are a little blue, I’m worried about her circulation,” the mom can be heard telling Kimbro in video posted to the Berkeley County Sheriff's Office page. The video has since gone viral, having been liked almost 5,000 times. reported that the girl's mother, who said the baby's name is Riley, told the officer that her daughter had been drinking from a bottle and then stopped breathing. The family then hit the road to get the girl some help, which is when they ran into Kimbro.
The officer continued to perform the life-saving measure for six minutes until EMTs arrived and took over.
