At least one person was killed in the violent encounter on Fteley Avenue near East 172nd Street in the Soundview section around 12:45 p.m., according to police and the sources.A pregnant woman was also hospitalized, according to sources. The officer, who was not immediately publicly identified, joined the force in 2018 and works in the Narcotics Division in the Bronx, according to sources.
Sources said the wounded cop was losing a great deal of blood while “hysterical” family members looked on.
