The teachers union said that schools are opening on Monday for students, with instruction resuming on Tuesday.
OEA announced that its bargaining team, which featured more than 50 educators reached a tentative deal with the school district. "Our collective power forced OUSD to commit to living wages for educators, more resources in our schools, enforceable working conditions & common good issues for our students & their families."
Members of the teachers' union had spoken around 9:30 p.m. Sunday, that the District needed to send over a final draft of the agreed upon terms by 11 p.m., otherwise, teachers would return to the picket lines on Monday. The last statement from OUSD was late Sunday night, saying that progress was being made.
