VALLEJO — An Oakland man was fatally shot in Vallejo a little after midnight Saturday, according to police.
Around 12:20 a.m., Vallejo police received reports of a man shot near Maher Court and Admiral Callaghan Lane who was already being taken to a hospital, police said in a Facebook post Saturday. Police described the man only as a 21-year-old Oakland man. He was pronounced deceased a short time later by medical staff.Police went to the hospital to gather information, and a crime scene where the shooting happened was found at the 100 block of Maher Court. Detectives took over the case, and are investigating the motive and circumstances of the shooting, police said.
