Officers said the woman was leaving her apartment near Sedgewick Avenue and West Kingsbridge Road in theto take her son to school Wednesday morning when they were threatened and robbed, CBS2's Natalie Duddridge reported. According to police, the woman, 35, and her 3-year-old son, who has special needs, were not physically hurt.
Investigators are looking for two men pictured standing next to the white SUV. One man in the surveillance picture was holding a child's car seat.Officers said the suspects approached the mother and child inside the lobby of the apartment building and pointed a gun at the woman's stomach, then at the child's head and demanded their belongings.
The suspects stole an iPhone, a wallet containing $1,500 cash and car keys, which they used to get away in the SUV, police said."If we intervened, then we'll get shot," another said."So I don't know if there's anything we could do about it."Anyone with information about the suspects is asked to call the NYPD's Crime Stoppers hotline at
