Nurses at CHI Health St. Elizabeth purchased a bouquet and a wedding dress for a mom-to-be whose water broke at only 23 weeks.
A bride, whose water broke when she was just 23 weeks pregnant, assumed that the wedding date she had set with her fiancé would have to be postponed after she was ordered to bed rest in the hospital. Instead, nurses at CHI Health St. Elizabeth in Lincoln, Nebraska planned an elaborate ceremony in just a week at the hospital's chapel.
Rubottom-Nitt and Richard Nitt got engaged in July after two years together and expected to be married as soon as possible. According to Rubottom-Nitt, they"randomly set a date," however, due to pregnancy complications, Rubottom-Nitt learned she had to remain at the hospital on bed rest until she gives birth to her son."There's a food list going around, and then you know ‘Oh so and so is bringing this,’ and a nurse went and bought my bouquet today,” Rubottom-Nitt told KOLN.
"I felt like that was the least I could do, was to order her a gown that she liked to that she felt beautiful,” nurse Sarah Jacobs said.
