Cleveland music venue and dive bar Now That’s Class, known for hosting underground artists, dance nights and other social events for the past 15 years, will close this spring when owner Paul Shlachter moves away from Cleveland.
CLEVELAND, Ohio --
Emma Jochum, the owner of Lakewood record store Black Market Records and a promoter at The Foundry Concert Club, will take over ownership on March 1. According to a press release, Jochum plans to rename the venue, which is located at 11213 Detroit Ave., just a couple blocks away from the Foundry. Shows scheduled at Now That’s Class will still take place, even after the ownership change on March 1, according to a press release. The venue’s roster of upcoming concerts includes a variety of hip-hop, folk-punk, death metal and thrash bands.
