FRISCO – When Cowboys defensive end Sam Williams became a father, it changed his life.
A crowded household pushed Williams away from the Kizito’s and he bounced around from house-to-house. He was expelled along with several other students from high school for playing with a knife before settling in Tiffani Cain’s home.“Honestly, we didn’t even think twice about it,” said Tiffani Cain, who with her husband, Mike, became Williams’ legal guardians. “We’ve known Sam since he was a freshman in high school so it wasn’t like bringing a stranger into our home.

From December 2019 to April 2021 Williams was arrested five times. The most serious of the offenses was a sexual assault charge where was arrested on July 24, 2020.
Williams lost two people in less than six months of time. It wore on him. It doesn’t excuse the behavior, but his life needed something.“I started starving my distractions and feeding my focus,” Williams said of what a coach told him.“It’s like I told him what do you want to do?” Davis said. “He told me, ‘I want everything for my son and play ball.’ Let’s focus on that and go full force on that. He’s 100% committed to that kid and 100% committed to his career. And he’s moving forward.
