The incident marks the deadliest shooting in Canadian history.

Seventeen people including the gunman died during the rampage, which was scattered through several rural communities in the Maritime provinces.

"That part of the investigation is still very much ongoing, and again, speaks to why we don't have a final total because we expect that to rise in the coming days," Leather said Monday.
