Lake-effect snow showers become more numerous on Monday.CLEVELAND, Ohio - A cold front that crossed Saturday night has certainly brought much chillier air in its wake. Temperatures for St. Patrick’s Day afternoon do not get out of the 40s with a continued stiff breeze making it feel like the 30s. In addition, scattered mixed showers dot the region. Snow showers ramp up on Monday when a northwest wind provides a good setup for the lake connection.
Scattered snow showers continue Sunday evening and overnight. As low temperatures fall to near 30 degrees, a light accumulation is possible, primarily on grassy and elevated surfaces, if snow can fall heavy enough. Lake-effect snow showers will be widespread on Monday. There generally looks to be a lull for the morning commute, though it still bears watching in case a rogue snow shower develops. However, most activity ramps up from mid to late morning. As temperatures hover just above freezing in the mid 30s, the snow will struggle to accumulate unless it can fall in heavy bursts, which is possible in a few locations, primarily in the snow belt zones.
Scattered lake-effect snow showers linger on Tuesday and even into the first part of Wednesday. High temperatures rise to the low 40s both days.A wintry mix is possible on Friday with temperatures swinging from the mid 20s in the morning to the mid 40s by the afternoon.Copyright 2024 WOIO.
