One Northeast Ohio athlete swept the throwing events at the 2024 OHSAA state track and field meet on Friday for six gold medals over a four-year career.
DAYTON, Ohio — When Morgan Hallett was a freshman at Norton, the school didn’t have much of a throwing program. There wasn’t even a throwing coach at the time.That moment helped spark Morgan on the path to become one of the best throwers in Ohio high school history.
Later in the day, Morgan won the state title in the discus for the third year in a row with a mark of 152-2, which she got on her third throw. That win gave her a sweep of the throwing events for the second time in three years. “Being coach and dad is a very stressful situation because then I have to go home and if things didn’t go well, I’m dealing with it actually from both standpoints,” Brian said. “So I’m actually pretty happy that coach Coleman is gonna take over the coaching part, and I can just enjoy and watch and be dad.”
