The northeast monsoon that has brought cold winds and rains has weakened, signifying that hot days are coming, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said on Sunday.
'Based on Pag-asa's monitor track, the effects of amihan are slowly decreasing but it is still affecting large parts of the country where cold winds can still be experienced in those areas,' weather forecaster Grace Castañeda told The Manila Times.This weather system continues to prevail in Luzon including Metro Manila where partly cloudy to cloudy skies with light rains are likely in the next 24 hours.
Castañeda said they are closely monitoring a circulation or cloud clusters outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility which may develop into a low pressure area.The weather agency said its trough will bring rain especially in the eastern part of Mindanao starting tomorrow.'Generally, we will be experiencing fair weather except for some localized thunderstorms that may occur in late afternoon or at night,' she said.
