The Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) reported that the northeast monsoon or 'amihan' will bring partly cloudy to overcast skies with isolated light rains over Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon throughout the day. The low pressure area (LPA) formerly Tropical Depression 'Querubin' is affecting Eastern Visayas and Caraga, while the shear line is bringing overcast skies with scattered rain showers to Bicol Region and Quezon.

MANILA, Philippines - Partly cloudy to overcast skies with isolated light rains will be experienced all throughout the day over Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon due to the northeast monsoon or 'amihan,' the state weather bureau said on Thursday. In its 5 a.m.

advisory, the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said the low pressure area (LPA), formerly Tropical Depression 'Querubin' was estimated at 245 kilometers (kms) east of Surigao City, Surigao del Norte. It has been affecting Eastern Visayas and Caraga where cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms would prevail. Its trough or extension is bringing similar weather conditions over the rest of Visayas and Mindanao, the national weather agency said. Meanwhile, the convergence of hot and cold air or shear line is affecting Bicol Region and Quezon where overcast skies with scattered rain showers would be likely in 24 hours. Aside from the National Capital Region, Pagasa said the northeast monsoon would also be experienced over Cagayan Valley, Cordillera Administrative Region, Aurora, Oriental Mindoro, Marinduque, and Romblon. Pagasa Administrator Nathaniel Servando said there was a medium chance that the LPA would redevelop into a tropical depression over the next 12 hours when it reaches the West Philippine Sea
