Officials said the White County sheriff’s office in Tennessee contacted North Ridgeville police at about 6:20 p.m. to alert the department about a warrant for Norris.

CLEVELAND, Ohio – Officers on Wednesday fatally shot a man in North Ridgeville who was wanted in Tennessee for killing his girlfriend, police said.

License-plate readers had picked up a stolen Jeep Compass owned by Megan Campbell, 32, who was Norris’ girlfriend.North Ridgeville police located the stolen SUV at a home in the 4800 block of James Road, and officers surrounded the property. Freeman said Norris pulled the gun and shot at police. Two officers returned fire, shooting one round each.
