Rancho Buena Vista High quarterback Connor Underhill leads the way for the North in a 29-13 victory as South held scoreless in second half
Playing like a team which had been together for an entire season, the North All-Stars came together Saturday for a win in the 32“One of the big things about a game like this is making new friends,” said Rancho Buena Vista High quarterback Connor Underhill. “Even though we’ve only been together for two weeks, it seems like we’ve become like family.”
“We played well defensively in the first half, but we cleaned some things up at halftime and played even better in the second half,” said North safety Seth Shaw of Imperial, who had a first-half interception to set up a North score and nearly had another pick in the second half. “We were just out there having fun.”
Francis Parker standout Chris Williams closed out the scoring with a wild 31-yard TD run on a reverse with 8:08 left in the fourth quarter. A pair of interceptions and a blocked punt all led to scores in the first half. After each team’s offense came up empty on their first series, Shaw intercepted a South pass to give the North possession at the South 46-yard line.
