NORTH OLMSTED — A North Olmsted Police officer was shot early Saturday morning while responding to a disturbance call in the area of Douglas Road and Alden Drive. Police Chief Bob Wagner said the officer's injuries were non-life threatening.
We're working to learn more about the shooting, including whether police exchanged gunfire and if a suspect has been identified. Police say they will be releasing more information this morning. Wagner said that around the same time, officers and the North Olmsted Fire Department responded to a nearby house fire in the 28000 block of Alden Drive. The home was fully engulfed. The chief believes these two incidents may be connected.He said the State Fire Marshal is also at the scene.
