A real-life Superman TikToker shares a new DC video that leaves everyone hoping this will be reflected in DC Studios' Superman: Legacy by James Gunn.
As fans are waiting patiently for Superman: Legacy, the Internet is left emotional from a real-life Superman cosplayer as he goes viral on TikTok. The DCEU is ending in order for a new DC Universe to come to life with DC Studios under the leadership of James Gunn and Peter Safran. Gunn is currently working on Superman: Legacy, which he wrote and is set to direct, as part of Chapter 1, "Gods and Monsters.
With production not set to start on Superman: Legacy until next year, the film only recently cast its new Superman and Lois Lane with David Corenswet and Rachel Brosnahan. However, to fill the void in the meantime, a real-life Superman cosplayer TallClark recently took the world by storm as one of his TikToks got massively popular, leaving fans emotional and excited for the Man of Steel's cinematic return.
SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY SCROLL TO CONTINUE WITH CONTENT The comment section of TallClark's video, which sees his Superman engaging in every-day acts of kindness, is filled with people sharing the sentiment that this is what Superman needs to be in live-action. Even as the video got reshared on Twitter, Superman fans are loving what TallClark is doing with his platform.
While Superman: Legacy will be a reboot, it will not be an origin story, as Gunn has talked about skipping this part in Clark Kent's characterization. Instead, this Superman will be in his early 20s and already established, which is a different approach from films like Superman: The Movie and Man of Steel. This story will also be set during a time when superheroes are already around, which means Clark may have relationships with some of them already.
With the ongoing Writers Guild of America strike and the potential for a SAG-AFTRA one, it might take some extra time until more casting news come out for Superman: Legacy. Since Gunn is sitting out this year's San Diego Comic-Con, time will tell where news will be revealed next. Hopefully, things will all be worked out in time for Superman: Legacy to complete casting so they can be ready for their 2024 production.
