Seven local government units (LGUs) along with five workers were recognized by the National Nutrition Council (NNC) during the 2022 National Nutrition Awarding Ceremony on Monday, March 20.
According to the NNC, they were recognized for their outstanding performance in nutrition program management. Apart from the seven LGUs it also conferred awards to one national outstanding barangay nutrition scholar, and four exceptional local nutrition focal points .
Civil Service Commission Chair Atty. Karlo Alexei B. Nograles gave the keynote address and together with NNC Governing Board Chair Department of Health Officer-in-Charge Maria Rosario Vergeire, other members of the NNC Governing Board and NNC Executive Director Assistant Secretary Azucena M. Dayanghirang, led in conferring the awards.
“Cremeria Ecijana” provides carabao milk-based products for communities. Biñan City established breastfeeding stations, birthing homes, and a hospital with strengthened community support and barangay playgrounds complemented with multi-sectoral nutrition promotion activities, which lowered malnutrition rates among children.
