'It’s such a special and surreal feeling when your friends travel half way across the world to celebrate your special day with you,' said the bride.
Our wedding in Wanaka was a three-day celebration. Most of our friends flew in earlier to do road trips and explore the South Island of New Zealand more deeply and we were welcomed by these crystal clear skies.We were inspired by Japan when designing our invitations. I’m half Japanese, it’s where we got engaged and it’s also my favorite place in the entire world, so it was important to me to weave this narrative into our wedding.
My dear friend Michael Lo Sordo created our getting ready looks and came over that morning to help us get ready. Everyone was in a different satin look which we wore with satin slides by The Row.I wore really minimal jewelry: Cartier diamond studs with a matching bracelet and necklace that I hope to give to my children. I chose a thin gold band with a row of 14 tiny diamonds and Luke chose a classic gold band for our wedding bands created by Sarah & Sebastian.
