THE National Historical Commission of the Philippines , led by its Chairman Regalado Trota Jose Jr., unveiled the 'Bahay ni Don Mariano Balsamo Hamoy' historical marker on October 14. The marker states in Filipino:'Became the home of Don Mariano Balsomo Hamoy and Doña Pilar Acaylar Sagario, 1893. Jose Riza visited it and Don Mariano at the time he was exiled by the Spanish government in Dapitan.
Hamoy remained a faithful friend of Rizal despite the force of the Spaniards. The house has remained in the care of the Hamoy family up to this day. Adjusted, 2020-2022. Opened as a 'Balay Hamoy' museum, 2022.
