Since taking over the country’s electricity superhighway in 2009, grid operator NGCP has invested P6.47 billion to boost its substations and improve the delivery of electricity nationwide. | jordeenelagare /PDI

Many of these projects had been implemented as early as 2016 sans provisional approval from the Energy Regulatory Commission, NGCP said on Monday.“The company continually implements projects to improve substation operations for the efficient and reliable delivery of power. NGCP invests in the best technology to better serve its customers,” said NGCP in a statement.

“We hope to correct the impression that the consumers are somehow short-changed with how rates are computed,” it added. “Our commitment has never wavered: we serve the public, and we work within the legal and regulatory framework of our concession and franchise.”
