GM Joe Hortiz could add a receiver like Marvin Harrison Jr. or Malik Nabers or offensive tackle like Joe Alt if the Chargers don’t get a stunning trade offer
The Chargers, provided they don’t trade the No. 5 pick in Thursday’s NFL draft, could potentially select, from left, Ohio State receiver Marvin Harrison Jr., LSU receiver Malik Nabers or Notre Dame offensive tackle Joe Alt.
Now, with the draft finally at hand, Hortiz and Harbaugh will get another chance to overhaul the roster and put their stamp on the Chargers. They have saved some of the best of what’s been working for the Chargers, but Thursday, Friday and Saturday mark another significant milestone for them.“I think I’ll be excited,” Hortiz said. “I think there will be some anxiety. Pressure. I think there’s pressure in every draft, and I’ve felt it before.
Hortiz left the Baltimore Ravens for his first general manager’s job after a decades-long career serving in a variety of positions. Harbaugh returned to the NFL after departing the University of Michigan after nine years, leading the Wolverines to a 15-0 record and the 2023 national championship.
