The New York Giants are leaving nothing to chance regarding the quarterback position, where starter Daniel Jones continues his rehab from a neck injury suffered two weeks ago., Matt Barkley and Ian Book, and receiver Damiere Byrd.
Barkley, who also spent seasons with the Cardinals, Bears, Bengals, Panthers, and Falcons, has played in 19 career games with seven starts. He's completed 212 out of 363 pass attempts for 2,699 yards, 11 touchdowns, and 22 interceptions. Book was also a fourth-round draft pick, selected in 2021 by the Saints. He's also made stops with the Eagles and was most recently with the Patriots practice squad. Book has appeared in one carer game, with the Saints as a rookie, having gone 12 of 20 for 135 yards and two interceptions.
The Giants currently have veteran Tyrod Taylor filling in for Jones while he heals up and rookie Tomy DeVito, whom they elevated off their practice squad for their Week 6 game against the Bills.
