North County Transit District plans to add three more North County service areas over the next two years
A new on-demand passenger van service began this week in San Marcos, a product of the people who also provide transportation on Sprinter trains and Breeze buses. San Marcos is the first of four North County cities where the North County Transit District is launching the yearlong pilot program. Vista will be added in April 2025, followed by Fallbrook and Pala in October 2025, and Oceanside in April 2026.
'It may include a short walk to a pick up spot, like when you meet an Uber or Lyft at the airport. The San Marcos zone includes four Sprinter stations, Palomar College, CSUSM, North City, and many other San Marcos destinations.' The fare is $2.50 per person each way for rides to and from a Sprinter station, or $5 per person each way to other destinations. Each additional person on a single booking is a $2.50 fare.
