Merc's electric car range grows again, with the new EQE SUV - including AMG versions
Two AMG variants also revealed
The new EQE SUV is designed to take on the likes of BMW’s iX and Jaguar i-Pace, as well as the recently-revealed Polestar 3.The new EQE SUV is taller than a regular EQE saloon and designed to have at least a whiff of off-road ability, with an off-road mode standard. The EQE SUV can be specced with or without Merc’s ultra-wide Hyperscreen infotainment system and it’s a five-seat car only, unlike the larger EQS SUV.
Elsewhere, Mercedes has been expanding its range of sounds that emit in the cabin while the car is in motion, with ‘Serene Breeze’ being its latest inclusion. Merc says it sounds ‘relaxed and natural.’Mercedes says there are 350+, 350 4Matic and 500 4Matic versions from launch – though it’s not confirmed which ones will come to the UK.
The AMG EQE 43 benefits from 469bhp, a 4.3sec 0-62mph time and a top speed of 130mph. Mercedes claims up to 303 miles of charge here.
