ILOILO CITY – The Iloilo City Police Office has a new leader.
Police Col. Joeresty Coronica is set to be replaced as police chief of this city by Police Col. Kim Legarda.
Coronica said one of his top achievements was the opening of four new police stations here on July 2.Coronica worked out with the city government and a barangay council to beef up police presence in four different districts of this city. During Coronica's stint, the Iloilo City police seized P129.5-million worth of illegal drugs and nabbed 867 drug suspects in 561 anti-drug operations from January 27, 2023 to July 12, 2024.
Six-hundred eight-nine wanted persons were arrested from January 27, 2023 to July 12, 2024 – 126 most wanted persons and 563 other wanted persons.
