Scott Walls used to bring his son to the indoor skatepark at 306 Shop in Regina. Nine years later, Walls now runs 306 Shop YXE in Saskatoon.

We’re looking for the right spot to be able to create an indoor skatepark in Saskatoon. And then what would come with that is skate school. We will teach the up-and-coming younger generation that would like to know about skateboarding and how to ride a scooter and just the basic fundamentals of how to do everything properly.
We would have instructor web training, which is currently what they do in Regina. Something that comes with that also is summer skate school, where the youth can come in and learn about graffiti and creating tie-dye shirts and clothing.It’s hard to say, but I know that we’re in a process. We’re talking about different locations and what’s going to be required to make this happen.
The skateboarders get to come in and get their clothing and skateboard stuff. If we end up finding a location where we can have an indoor skatepark and things work out, we’ll be able to teach the up-and-coming youth on how to skateboard and the safety of everything, as well as respecting people’s vocation for graffiti and not having such a stigma around skateboarding.Lawson Height Mall Monday to Thursday & Saturday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.; Friday, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.; Sunday 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
