Newly installed Harrisburg Bishop Timothy Senior vowed to accompany and help survivors of clergy sex abuse as he takes over the helm of the Diocese of Harrisburg, which six years ago was rocked by the scathing findings of an investigation into abuse. Senior becomes the 12th bishop of the 15-county diocese.

In a celebration awash with the solemn rituals of the Roman Catholic faith, Bishop Timothy Senior on Wednesday addressed one of the thorniest issues in the Catholic Church as he was installed head of the Diocese of Harrisburg at St. Patrick Cathedral. Amid the pomp of sacred music and the solemnity of liturgy, Senior, who was appointed to the post by Pope Francis in April, urged more than 100 priests from across the diocese and some 30 bishops from across the country in attendance to remember victims and survivors of clergy sex abuse.
