Does 983 sound as good as 303? Denver will see a new area code in June.
The new 983 area code will be coming to the Denver area as soon as June, the Colorado Public Utilities Commission said.
As the 303 and 720 area codes are expected to run out by the beginning of the summer, the 983 area code will be assigned to new phone numbers shortly. Those with 303 and 720 phone numbers will not experience changes.the arrival of the 983 code in May 2021, saying that the new area code is expected to last 25 years.
Colorado is also gaining an eighth congressional seat in the 2022 elections, marking population growth in the centennial state.
