“I was trying to show how calm they might have been but how chaotic everything was that was going on,” Shell said. Clinton lawyers Cheryl Mills, left, and Nicole Seligman meet to discuss Lewinsky’s deposition, which was played that day before the US Senate.The depositions came fast and furious during the trial, and they all had to be printed out in massive books that the lawyers had to read and absorb quickly.
“He goes over and picks up one of these books, and he files through the book and he finds the quote and then he runs out and takes it to Cheryl ,” Shell said.Each day of the trial, Clinton’s legal team would carry depositions and legal briefings into the Capitol. Most days they would meet at the White House before and after the Senate hearings.
