In addition to being a formidable adversary, Smoker also brought about the intimidating Marine force, thus introducing a whole new host of challenges for Luffy and the gang to overcome.

Dragon's debut in One Piece season 2 is a scene where Kaya looks at a newspaper featuring an article about the Revolutionary Army. Monkey D. Dragon is one of the founding members and the supreme commander of the Revolutionary Army.
