is closing two of its 25 Texas stores located in Fort Worth and Coppell as part of a recent review of store performance.
The stores are in northern Fort Worth at 5230 North Tarrant Parkway and in Coppell at 120 S. Denton Tap Rd. Both locations are expected to close by May 15 and a storewide 25% off sale is underway. The company said the 14 store employees in Fort Worth and 13 in Coppell are considering transfers to other stores and some will receive severance benefits.
No other store closings are planned, the company said in a statement. Lakewood, Colo.-based Natural Grocers operates 166 stores in 21 states and first entered the North Texas market in 2008. “We made the difficult decision to close two lower-performing stores,’ said Kemper Isely, co-president of Natural Grocers.
