The heat index should top out between 95 and 100.
A heat wave starts on the third straight day of 90-plus degree temps. That will be Wednesday for some parts of the state, including Newark and Thursday for many more, including Trenton and Camden. A heat advisory is in place for most of New Jersey on Wednesday and Thursday. Much of the state will be under an excessive heat watch over the weekend.Thursday will be another very warm day, though it’s not going to be quite as unbearable as thought earlier in the week, the weather service said in its morning forecast discussion.Friday will be another hot day with highs in the low to mid 90. The humid conditions will make it feel as hot as the upper 90s to low 100s.
There’s not much change in the forecast for the weekend — expect a pair of hot days with widespread temperatures in the low to mid 90s.
