As Wotherspoon noted in his opening remarks to Harpauer’s estimates, the province “suffered through an incredibly high cost of living” while leaving classrooms in a position of massive shortfall. Harpauer responded government needs to remain “cautious of relying on revenues that are not stable year over year over year,” further noting that school divisions don’t have to contend with the biggest inflation drivers in food and clothing costs.
