The latest episode of Screen Rant's Pitch Meeting series is setting its cosmic sights on Ms. Marvel. The Disney+ series marked the Marvel Cinematic Universe debut of Kamala Khan, a Captain Marvel-obsessed Pakistani-American teenager who gains cosmic-harnessing abilities from a magical bangle with ties to her ancestors.
SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY Iman Vellani led the cast of Ms. Marvel as the titular heroine alongside Matt Lintz, Yasmeen Fletcher, Zenobia Shroff, Mohan Kapur, Saagar Shaikh, Laurel Marsden, Azhar Usman, Rish Shah and Alysia Reiner. One of the biggest issues the show faced, as pointed out in the new Pitch Meeting video, was Disney+'s decision to release Ms. Marvel in direct competition with Obi-Wan Kenobi, a program generally considered more anticipated amongst audiences for Ewan McGregor's return as the Jedi. The former show would launch as the least-watched MCU series, while the latter would surpass both The Mandalorian's season 2 premiere and The Book of Boba Fett's premiere.
