A motorcyclist died Sunday when he crashed on state Route 66 in Morgan County.
The crash happened around noon just west of East Canyon Reservoir. Utah Highway Patrol trooper Luis Silva said the motorcyclist, a 25-year-old male, was attempting to pass another vehicle in an area he wasn't supposed to when he went off the road.
"The motorcyclist went off the roadway and was thrown from the bike," Silva said. "The driver suffered fatal injuries on scene."Police have not released the name of the motorcyclist.A previous version incorrectly stated the crash happened on U.S. Highway 66, rather than state Route 66.
