What Morgan's Exit Means For Fear The Walking Dead's Final Episodes Morgan has been a key character in The Walking Dead universe since The Walking Dead season 1. Following a lengthy amount of time surviving on his own, Morgan became a main cast member in The Walking Dead season 6. However, after the war with the Saviors in The Walking Dead season 8, Morgan decided to travel on his own, scared of losing other people.
Now that Morgan won't come back to Fear the Walking Dead, Madison, the show's former protagonist, will likely be the main character for its final six episodes. Fear the Walking Dead season 8 part 2 trailer shows Victor Strand returning, while episode 6's post-credits scene hints at Troy Otto's survival from Fear the Walking Dead season 3.
While James previously said Fear the Walking Dead ends Morgan's story, his final episode hints that Morgan still has a mission to find Rick. This could be in a new spinoff in The Walking Dead universe that shows him returning to Alexandria. He could also reappear in Rick and Michonne's upcoming series. As Fear the Walking Dead says goodbye to Morgan, it's unclear if this means he will never return to The Walking Dead universe again.
