Families across the country celebrated moms over the weekend, but statistics show more women may be waiting longer to become mothers.

He said higher paying jobs and higher education requirements are some of the contributors to why women are prolonging motherhood potentially leading to lower birthrates. Fullerton said there is a correlation between this trend and when women are becoming mothers, but that's not the only challenge being seen for people trying to start a family.
