While TNT head coach Chot Reyes could see the potential of the four-point shot in helping Gilas Pilipinas, the former national team mentor said adjusting the league rules similar to the one being applied by FIBA will provide better direction for Filipino players.

Reyes explained that the four-point shot could help the Filipino players improve their outside shooting, which, in retrospect, should also boost the Nationals' ability to shoot from deep.

“We’ve been talking to the Commissioner, we've been talking to Chairman Vargas about really fully accepting FIBA rules. I think iyon talaga makakatulong. That’s the one thing that can really help the national team,” stressed the veteran internationalist. “If I am not mistaken the board is seriously considering it,” said Reyes. “I think they are going to start adapting interpretation on fouls. Laking bagay non eh kasi the way the fouls are called in the PBA is very different from the way fouls are called sa FIBA.”
