Downtown Dallas' landmark Republic Center is getting more apartments in a redevelopment of five floors of offices.
Parts of the adjoining second tower are now also planned for new residential space, according to filings with the city and state.
The new Parkside Residences at 325 N. St. Paul will include five floors of offices converted to multifamily residential, according to Dallas building permit filings. Work on the project is scheduled to start next month, according to details provided to the Texas Department of Licensing & Regulation. CallisonRTKL is the project architect. Swinerton Builders is the general contractor.
The permit filings didn’t specify how many residential units are included in the project. Representatives of the building owner could not be reached for information., which opened in 2019. Two other office buildings overlooking the park have already been redeveloped into residences.from office to residential space. With less office demand following the pandemic, building owners are looking at ways to repurpose surplus spaces.
