House Speaker Martin Romualdez has congratulated Kalookan Bishop Pablo Virgilio David for the latter's historic appointment as cardinal.
"I extend my heartfelt congratulations to Kalookan Bishop Pablo Virgilio Cardinal David on his appointment to the College of Cardinals. This is a tremendous honor, not just for Cardinal David, but for the entire Filipino nation," Romualdez said in a statement Monday, Dec. 9. "This recognition affirms the respect and trust he has earned through his tireless work for the poor, the vulnerable, and those who need guidance. It is a moment of pride for all Filipinos to see one of our own take on this significant role in the global Catholic Church," said Romualdez, who echoed the nation’s joy over the development.
