A sergeant with the Mobile Police Department was arrested Tuesday night.
An MPD statement indicates Sgt. Chris Reed was booked into jail Tuesday night and has been placed on administrative leave. Jail records show Reed, 52, is charged with attempting to commit a controlled substance crime, a felony.“On the evening of Tuesday, August 13, 2024, Interim Police Chief William Jackson was made aware of an arrest in Baldwin County involving one of our law enforcement officers. Sgt. Chris Reed was booked into the Baldwin County Jail Tuesday night.
Subsequently, the Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office stated that Reed was arrested during a narcotics operation conducted by the Baldwin County Drug Task Force. The operation involved the purchase of a controlled substance from an undercover agent working with the task force, according to the BCSO.
