Semmes mother took her on life after killing her two young children Thursday, Mobile County Sheriff Paul Burch told reporters at a news conference Friday afternoon.
Burch identified the mother as 37-year-old Nancy Johnson, and the two child victims as 2-year-old Jacob Johnson and 5-year-old Mia Johnson.The sheriff said autopsies were completed Friday morning on the woman and the children. It was determined Nancy Johnson’s death was the result of suicide by hanging, Burch said.
He said the 2-year-old boy died from drowning. The 5-year-old girl’s death was the result of drowning with a contributing factor being lacerations to the throat by a knife from the home, he said.
