Brandon Dixon is still slugging at Triple-A El Paso.
The 31-year-old Dixon hit his sixth homer of the year in the Chihuahuas’ 3-2 loss to visiting Oklahoma City, tied for the organizational lead.
Dixon paired 23 homers with an .823 slugging percentage in the high minors last year, forcing his way onto the Padres’ 40-man roster.He’s just 2-for-12 in the majors so far this year, but after homering on Saturday with El Paso is hitting .344/.423/.689 in 16 games with El Paso. His six homers are tied for the organizational lead with El Paso teammates Tim Lopes and Alfonso Rivas. struck out seven and allowed one run on five hits and two walks in 5 2/3 innings.
