In the 22 years since her disappearance, Alissa Turney’s case re-entered the public eye largely due to the efforts of her younger half-sister, Sarah Turney. Monday was the sixth day of the trial, which had been scheduled to last for two more weeks. Michael Turney was ordered to be released today.In the aftermath of the acquittal, Maricopa County Attorney Rachel Mitchell released a statement about the case.
