Tua Tagovailoa's participation in voluntary workouts while he waits for a contract extension has the media looking for answers.
"The good news about 'all' is it's very black and white," McDaniel said. "He has been here for offseason activities. He has not been here for offseason activities. He has been both. I think, you know, important in the player-coach relationship is communication.
"I don't make it a habit of speaking for other people's mouths," McDaniels said. "I don't want any of that burden in my life ... This is what's great about the orchestration of our organization, I think it's important that the player-coach relationship is put on a pedestal where you don't tinker with that.
The fifth-year signal caller was reportedly "10 or 15 pounds" lighter when he arrived to South Florida for the offseason program. McDaniels said the weight loss was just another way for Tagovailoa's game to take another step. The coach referred to Tagovailoa as "svelte."
