MERALCO PowerGen Corp. (MGen) said Wednesday that subsidiary PacificLight Power Pte. Ltd. (PLP) had been granted approval to build, own and operate power-generating units by Singapore's Energy Market Authority.

Ltd. had been granted approval to build, own and operate power-generating units by Singapore 's Energy Market Authority.The units will provide 100 megawatts of 'Fast Start' generation capacity by the second quarter of 2025, MGen said in a statement, adding that these would reinforce Singapore 's goal to ensure uninterrupted power.
'This award is a testament of PLP's consistent reliable performance and its good record of being able to deliver as promised and contributes to our drive for more sustainable power generation as we transitions to low-carbon power generation such as LNG in the Philippines,' he added.
