MEXICO CITY—Thousands of women in Mexico are expected to take the day off Monday to stand up for a basic right: to not be subjected to violence at the hands of men.
They are protesting a rising wave of violence against women and demanding more protection from authorities. On Sunday, during International Women’s Day, they also plan to hold a large protest.
